The purpose of the award is to recognize and honour outstanding Black and Multicultural Businesses that have made significant contributions to their communities.
The SEMBA Awards will apply to any area of business and is chosen from a number of categories.
To qualify for a SEMBA Award the nominee must be a resident of Simcoe County and have made a significant contribution in one or more of the following categories
Preservation of History
The award recipients are selected by an independent selection committee made up of representatives from the community. The committee reviews the submissions and selects the recipients from the numerous nominations received. Nominations may be made by any person or organization wishing to recognize outstanding Black Business contributions in their community.
The awards will be presented at a special ceremony.
The date and location of the ceremony will be announced ASAP.
Nomination forms may be submitted at any time. The deadline for 2021 will be announced soon. All nominations received after this date will be considered for the following year.
The purpose of the award is to recognize and honour outstanding seniors who, after age 65, have made significant contributions to their communities. The outstanding voluntary or professional achievement may have occurred in any field of endeavour. Each year, 20 individuals are selected to receive this prestigious award.
To qualify for an Ontario Senior Achievement Award the nominee must be a resident of Ontario and have made a significant contribution after age 65
in one of the categories listed above.
